Leader of Learning - Executive position

 

The College is seeking applications from highly qualified educators to undertake a new and dynamic senior leadership role. This is a joint Sydney Catholic Schools and College appointment with accountabilities to the College Principal. It is a three-point executive position within the school. The successful applicant would be a suitably qualified and experienced teacher and leader, with a minimum of 8 years of experience, who has a passion for and a love of teaching and learning.

The Leader of Learning will both model and promote contemporary learning principles, including Newman (Gifted and Talented) Program, whole school literacy and eLearning.  In particular, the Leader of Learning will implement and account for initiatives relating to teaching and learning that derive from the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) and the Archdiocesan Authentic Learning project.  The Leader of Learning will be a member of the College Leadership Team and co-lead, with this team, in driving the College’s pedagogical and Annual Improvement goals.

Coordinator of Mathematics

 

This is a Full-time position starting in 2018. The successful applicant would be a suitably qualified Maths teacher, with a minimum of 6 years of experience, who has a passion for and a love of teaching. They would have to display an understanding of contemporary pedagogy and the current Maths curriculum. Critically, they would be expected to lead a team of highly professional maths educators. The ability to teach Extension 1 and 2 Maths would be an advantage. Additionally, there is an expectation to participate in the full range of extra curricula activities that are offered by the College. Essential criteria for the position is listed below:


As Mathematics Coordinator, you will be expected to lead the Maths Faculty, ensuring the delivery of quality teaching and learning experiences that lead to effective student outcomes. You will provide leadership for the staff within your Faculty and you will oversee the management of the curriculum, programs and associated administration matters.

Key Responsibilities:
 
Lead the Faculty in/to:
 
Operate efficiently and effectively whilst ensuing high quality student outcomes. 
Strategic thinking for the development of programs and the implementation of pedagogical initiatives identified as College priorities
Ensure that the knowledge, skills, attitudes and scope and sequence of learning outlined in programs comply with NESA requirements
Develop high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting programs and registers
Managing and running Co-curricular for the Faculty, and overseeing subject change, events and PD 
Managing/overseeing the collation and maintenance of student marks.
Drive a culture of excellence in teaching
Oversee the effective and efficient running of all assessments within the subject area/s
Champion a student / staff feedback system, including undertaking lesson observations 
Co-ordinate and oversee a Faculty budget
Chair Faculty staff meetings and managing staffing
Lead and undertake Professional Growth in Action meetings with Maths staff 
Participate in KLA and Sydney Catholic Schools PD and in-service programs

Casual Relief Teachers

 

The College is seeking applications from qualified secondary teachers as we are interested in building our casual relief list. All applicants need to submit a letter of application along with a current resume, including professional referees. You must have a Sydney Catholic Schools Employment number (PHRIS) and classification documents, including a current 'Working with Children' screening. The ability to work at short notice would be desirable.
