Pompeii Trip

Rome, Pompeii and Herculaneum Trips

As part of the Ancient History curriculum, students are to study the Ancient Cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum as the compulsory section of the HSC. In 2011 the College embarked on its first trip to see these sites first hand, taking 29 students and staff on an invaluable educational and cultural experience.

Once again the College is providing the opportunity for students to delve into the ancient world of Rome, Pompeii and Herculaneum in January 2013. Our experience is heightened by the expertise of world-renowned archaeologist Dr Estelle Lazer, who provides a personal tour of the site of Pompeii and her work on the ancient remains. Along with guided tours by Italian specialists and Australian historians, the ancient world is brought to life.  While in Rome, students visit many of the most famous sites Italy has to offer such as the Colosseum, Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. In addition, the Vatican and the Catacombs are incorporated to add to the growing dynamic that makes Italy one of the most brilliant places to visit and a trip not to be missed!
